FIRE RETARDANT LAMINATING EPOXIES
The PRO-SET® Fire Retardant Laminating System is a low-viscosity, non-brominated system containing high phosphorous levels, designed to reduce flame spread and smoke generation in composite laminates. Proper post-curing provides excellent temperature stability and enhances the cosmetic appearance of the final part. With specific laminates, PRO-SET® Fire Retardant Laminating Systems have met the requirement for Lloyd’s Register Rules and Regulations for the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), FAR 25.853, and USCG Laminating Resin requirements.rnrnu003cemu003eEach Fire Retardant resin and hardener combination has unique physical, mechanical, and thermal properties. The PRO-SET® Fire Retardant Infusion System is a very low-viscosity system containing high phosphorous levels, designed to minimize flame spread and smoke generation in composite laminates. Post-curing is essential for optimal temperature stability and improved cosmetic appearance of the final part. This system is tailored for resin infusion and VARTM processes and is unsuitable for open mold applications.rnrnPRO-SET® XR28A Fire Retardant Infusion Resin can be combined with PRO-SET® M2043 Fast Hardener, M2044 Medium Hardener, or M2046 Slow Hardener to regulate cure speed.
